black garage doors where once the castles own firefighting equipment was housed.
Fire engines were one of the many appliances that Lord Armstrong's factories produced.
During the summer months the stables play host to an art gallery run by Peter Phillips. Peter first fell in love with Bamburgh in the early 1950’s
on a school trip to the area. More recently we discussed exhibiting some of his works, including Bamburgh Castle in a short exhibition. Peter
felt he had more to do and set about creating his book Bamburgh The King of Castles. Working in a variety of medium he created literally hundreds
of images and it is these that fill the stables in the summer months. Being a great believer in making art available to everyone, you can purchase
everything from original pieces down to smaller prints.
