Bamburgh Castle is situated 42 miles north of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and 20 miles south of Berwick-upon-Tweed. It is 6 miles east of Belford by the B1342 from the A1. There is parking for 100 cars with Coach parking on the drive. The OS map ref: NU184 351. There are regular Bus Services operated by Arriva and Travelsure. The main route numbers are 500, 501, 505, 515, 401 and 411.
In 2008 we will be open from Saturday 1st March until 31st October daily from 10am - 5pm. Last entry is at 4pm. Please allow plenty of time as there is a lot to see.
Please note: Groups have to comprise 15 or more individuals prebooked to qualify for the group discount shown in the table below. There is an optional guiding service for groups, please pre-arrange for this service if required.

There is only limited wheelchair access, the person in the wheelchair will only see the first 5 rooms, after that there are stairs and narrow passages. There is some limited disabled parking near the castle entrance and we have 2 wheelchair friendly toilets. Neither the tearooms nor the gift shop are accessible, having said that we get many wheelchair visitors, we have an album to show the inaccessible rooms and we make no charge for those in wheelchairs.
