10:00 am - 3:00 pm

With King Oswald on the throne of Bebbanburg and Aiden preaching Christianity across Northumberland, Wulfthryth and Saethryth are surviving the 7th century as only they can.

Wulfthryth, once Lady in Waiting to Queen Ethelberga of Kent and skilled in healing, considers herself a little higher up the social ladder than her good friend, Saethryth, who is doing all she can to mix with the nobles and change her diet from cabbage soup to roast beef.

Join Wulfthryth and Saethryth at Bamburgh Castle on various dates over the summer, and learn about Anglo Saxon History! They will be around the castle site giving talks and demonstrations on cooking, wool production, medicine and healing, weapons and armour, drop spindling and lucet braid making.
