Joust event info 20th and 21st June

20–21 June (Joust Event): The West Ward will be reserved for Joust ticket holders between 1pm and 3pm. General admission visitors will be able to access the West Ward after 3pm once the event has finished. Please note that general admission tickets do not include guaranteed access to the 'Joust' event. Please ensure you are purchasing the correct ticket type.

Pirate Creatures – Bamburgh Castle

Castle Critters: Pirate Creatures with ZooLab!
Arrr ye ready to meet the wildest crew on the high seas—aboard Bamburgh Castle?!

Ahoy, mateys! Set yer compass for Castle Critters: Pirate Creatures, where the fine folk from ZooLab be bringin’ their scallywagging shipload o’ creatures to Bamburgh Castle for a day o’ hands-on adventure!

Drop anchor by the Castle Gift Shop (just follow the treasure trail through the State Rooms), and meet real-life beasties like:

A slitherin’ Cornsnake, a hairy Chilean Rose Tarantula, a jumpy White Tree Frog, and the castle’s most famous stowaways – Rats!

Whether ye be a wee deckhand or a seasoned sea dog, this swashbucklin’ experience be suitable for all ages! Come feel, hold, and learn about these fascinating critters from lands near and far. A voyage of discovery awaits!

WHEN THE CRITTERS DOCK:

10am – 4pm (the critters take a snooze at 12.45pm until 1.30pm) when they visit Bamburgh Castle

PRICE O’ ENTRY:
This animal encounter be included with yer’ general admission – no extra doubloons or bookings needed!

IMPORTANT TO NOTE, ME HEARTIES:

  • Young buccaneers must be accompanied by a grown-up guardian.

  • Admission tickets must be secured via our website or at the castle’s ticket office.

  • ZooLab and Bamburgh Castle may adjust or cancel sessions for the welfare of the animals—so keep yer spyglass handy for updates!
