We’re delighted to reveal the theme for this year’s spectacular Christmas experience extravaganza at Bamburgh Castle is A Christmas Carousel.
Running from Saturday 14 November 2026 until Sunday 3 January 2027, this year’s immersive festive experience invites visitors to journey through the much-loved music of Christmas, with every magnificent stateroom transformed into a magical celebration of festive favourites.
Created by acclaimed theatrical designer Charlotte Lloyd Webber and her award-winning team at Charlotte Lloyd Webber Event Design, A Christmas Carousel celebrates the songs and carols that have brought generations together at Christmas.
Over the years, Christmas at Bamburgh Castle has become one of Northumberland’s most popular festive traditions, welcoming thousands of visitors from across the North East and beyond. Every year brings an entirely new theme, meaning no two Christmas visits are ever the same.
Discover enchanting scenes inspired by classics including Walking in a Winter Wonderland, We Three Kings and Carol of the Bells, brought to life through spectacular styling, immersive sound, atmospheric lighting and theatrical storytelling.
From a magical snow-covered woodland and beautifully decorated Christmas trees to elegant angelic installations and lavish Victorian festive feasts, every room has been carefully designed to complement the castle’s extraordinary history and stunning interiors.

Alongside this year’s spectacular Christmas displays, our popular Meet Father Christmas experience will return on weekends throughout the festive season.
