Paul Martin is the popular presenter of FLOG IT! for over 20 years. Paul was discovered when he was interviewed about his passion for oak furniture by a team from BBC Bristol. This was the extent of his previous television experience! The team was so impressed by his natural confidence in front of the camera that he was signed up immediately to present the BBC daytime antiques show.
Paul will be with us for the evening at Bamburgh Castle and is inviting attendees to bring along a small item (small enough to carry up the hill in a small bag or your pocket!) Paul will be mingling as people arrive and will ‘ear-mark’ up to a dozen items he will value towards the end of the evening.
Tickets are £40 each
The itinerary for the evening is as follows:
5pm – 6.30pm Drinks and some food will be available to purchase and Paul will mingle/look at some of the items brought along
7pm Paul will talk about the history of Bamburgh Castle, how he became involved with antiques as well as talk about his TV career. This will be in our magnificent King’s Hall
7.45pm Interval
8.30pm Paul will talk about the items ear-marked on arrival and value them

1984: In a North East mining town, miners are on strike and the atmosphere is tense. Eleven-year old Billy Elliot (Jamie Bell), whose father and brother are participating in the strike, whose mother has died quite some time ago, and whose grandmother is not completely aware of what’s going on, doesn’t like the brutal boxing lessons at school. Instead, he falls for the girls’ ballet lessons. When his folks find out about this unusual love of his, Billy is in trouble. Being supported by the ballet teacher, Mrs. Wilkinson (Dame Julie Walters), he keeps on training secretly while the work situation, as well as the problems at home, get worse. Finally, Mrs. Wilkinson manages to get Billy an audition for the Royal Ballet School, but now he also has to open his heart to his family.
This is a captivating, fun and emotional journey with foot tapping rhythm as well as a heart warming story of a young boy following his dreams.
