Festive wreath making at Bamburgh Castle 10.30am – 12.30pm/1.30pm – 3.30pm
Our Festive Wreath Making classes are back and will be hosted by Sharon Wright from Wild With Love, local award-winning florist – Wildwithlove.co.uk
Sharon is a born and bred Northumbrian lass and has lived in the Alnwick area for several years now. She has a passion for the natural world (and Christmas!) and this is reflected in her wreath making and floral arrangements.
You will be making living wreaths made on a frame of moss. They are incredibly long-lasting and you can, if you want to, leave your wreath hanging on your door long into the new year (the Royal Family do!)
We will be using a variety of foliage including local ivy (from Bamburgh Castle), holly, cupress and eucalyptus to name just a few. There will be a huge selection of decorative items to choose from to add to your wreath to make it truly individual including pine cones, dried fruits, cinnamon sticks, baubles, ribbons, berries and festive novelties. You can even colour co-ordinate your ribbon to your front door or your other Christmas decor if you like!
The possibilities are endless…..
The session lasts around 2 hours, will take place in the magnificent King’s Hall and includes all materials to create your wreath
The magic of Christmas is coming to Bamburgh Castle this year. Father Christmas will be with us from the 20th November until the 24th December in his very special festive grotto.
A visit to see Father Christmas is an additional £14.95 per child plus the regular ticket price to the castle – see the link below (please note we may have to restrict the amount of adults that can accompany the child/children to 2 adults depending on any restrictions in place at the time of the visit) Each child will sit with Father Christmas for a personalised magical experience and will receive a special gift which is exclusive to Bamburgh Castle.
If you add Reindeer moss to your booking this can be collected from Father Christmas when you visit him.
*Entry to the special grotto is only valid with a ticket to see Father Christmas.
*If you have more than one child please ensure you book both/all into the same time slot (maximum of 3 children per time slot) Father Christmas needs enough time to make sure he can speak to every child and he doesn’t wear a watch! If you have more than 3 children please ensure you book an additional time slot.
You must purchase admission tickets to Bamburgh Castle in order to see Father Christmas. You can purchase admission tickets by clicking this link https://www.bamburghcastle.com/product/winter-e-ticket/or you can purchase them on the day at the ticket office.
