Pirates Take Over Bamburgh Castle!

Ahoy there! The Pirates of Bamburgh are back and have dropped anchor just off the coast. They’ve taken over the Castle for a few days of mischief, mayhem, and maritime fun!

Pirate Appearance Dates:
August 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11

These two characters are full of fun—but not to be trusted! Don’t say we didn’t warn you…

Captain Red

A ruthless scallywag with a weakness for shiny things and chocolate. Born on a neighbour’s decking in Tamworth, he’s a stamp collector turned pirate rogue. Once tried to steal a cannon aboard the Mary Rose, then took his yodelling act to Jamaica.
Warning: Known for long-winded tales and questionable morals. Avoid eye contact—especially if you’re holding sweets.

Captain Darrius Ironbeard

Standing 6ft 1 with a beard as shiny as treasure, Ironbeard is the jolliest pirate on the seas! Captain of the Black Tooth, he’s known for his booming laugh, daring adventures, and wild tales of sea monsters and lost islands.
Despite losing his leg to a rum-fuelled encounter with a sea bass (yes, really), he’s as fast and fearless as ever.
Good news: He’s a friendly pirate who loves helping young adventurers solve riddles and hunt treasure!

His motto?
“A pirate’s life is full of fun, and treasure’s best when shared by everyone!”

So polish your spyglass and put on your tricorn hat—an unforgettable adventure awaits at Bamburgh Castle!

Please note: Pirate appearances are subject to change or cancellation.
