Admission on Saturday 13th June 2026 and Joust event info 20th and 21st June

Due to a private event, the State Rooms will close earlier than usual on Saturday 13 June. Last admission to the State Rooms will be at 2:30pm (instead of 4:15pm). Please ensure you enter before 2:30pm if you wish to visit this area.

The Clocktower Café, Tack Room and Viking Market in the West Ward will remain open as normal until 4:45pm. However, access to the Inner Ward and Battery Terrace will be restricted from 4:30pm onwards.

Please note: online tickets will not be available for this date. Tickets can be purchased on arrival at the admissions office.

20th and 21st June - please note tickets specifically purchased for the Joust event will be admitted to The West Ward for this event. The West Ward will be closed between 12pm and 1pm and only tickets for the Joust will be admitted from 1pm. General admission tickets will be allowed into The West Ward after 3pm once the event has finished.
If you purchase general admission tickets for either of these dates there is no guarantee you will have access to the Joust event

Castle Critters with ZooLab

Meet Real Animals at Bamburgh Castle!

Get hands-on with some amazing creatures during our Castle Critters event, hosted by the fantastic team from ZooLab—an ethical and sustainable animal encounter experience.

Drop in throughout the day to see, hold, and learn about a variety of fascinating animals, including: Cornsnake, Chilean Rose Tarantula, White Tree Frog …and a castle favourite—Rats!

This fun and educational experience is suitable for all ages and offers a unique chance to get up close to some of nature’s most interesting critters.

Location: Next to the Castle Gift Shop (follow the trail through the State Rooms)
