Admission on Saturday 13th June 2026

Due to a private event, the State Rooms will close earlier than usual on Friday 13 June. Last admission to the State Rooms will be at 2:30pm (instead of 4:15pm). Please ensure you enter before 2:30pm if you wish to visit this area.

The Clocktower Café, Tack Room and Viking Market in the West Ward will remain open as normal until 4:45pm. However, access to the Inner Ward and Battery Terrace will be restricted from 4:30pm onwards.

Please note: online tickets will not be available for this date. Tickets can be purchased on arrival at the admissions office.

Visiting Bamburgh Castle with Your Dog? We’ve Got You Covered!

Dogs are warmly welcomed in our stunning nine-acre grounds, though they are not permitted inside the Castle building. To make your visit even more enjoyable, we’re partnering with Northumberland Dog Rescue, to watch your pups on selected dates.

How It Works

Beginning at 10am on the listed dates, you can book your time slot with Northumberland Dog Rescue upon arrival. Meanwhile, you’ll find their team positioned near the State Room Entrance, and any staff member can guide you there with ease.

Suggested Donations

  • 30-minute dog-sitting: £5

  • 60-minute dog-sitting: £10

Though donations are suggested – feel free to give more to support the rescues incredible work.

With every donation, supporters actively boost Northumberland Dog Rescue’s mission. As a result, the team rescues, rehabilitates, and ultimately rehomes dogs throughout the region.
