October Half Term Halloween Fun

Gruesome tales, creepy crafts and spine-tingling surprises are taking over Bamburgh Castle this October half term, promising a frightfully fun family day out.

From 24 October, visitors can enjoy a (g)host of spooky activities and Halloween fun, all included with general Castle admission. There’s plenty for the everyone to enjoy – with a few surprises along the way.

Things are getting decidedly gruesome inside our Norman Keep, where storyteller Jim will be digging into the darker chapters of history that happened beneath your feet, with blood-curdling tales, sinister secrets and stories that might just send a shiver down your spine.

If that doesn’t make your skin crawl, an appointment with the Castle’s macabre doctor might do the trick. Expect bizarre remedies, gruesome treatments and some truly questionable medical advice from centuries past. Suddenly, a trip to the dentist doesn’t sound quite so bad.

Little monsters can get stuck into Halloween-themed crafts, conjuring up their own creepy creations to take home, while a special Halloween performance from All Stars Choir promises to fill the magnificent King’s Hall with haunting harmonies and a little musical magic.

And when you’ve had your fill of spooky goings-on, there’s the rest of Bamburgh Castle to explore, from its magnificent state rooms to spectacular views across the Northumberland coastline.

Whether you’re in it for the gruesome history, the ghostly atmosphere or simply a cracking family day out, Bamburgh Castle has plenty of tricks and treats up its sleeve this October half term.

Halloween at Bamburgh Castle runs from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November 2026, with all Halloween activities included in general Castle admission.

Fancy a frightfully good day out? Book your tickets now… if you dare!
