This summer, come and be wined and dined at Bamburgh Castle!
Join North East Tasting Club for an exclusive wine and cheese event where you can explore the grounds of iconic Bamburgh Castle. Take in the incredible views, a glorious summer’s day sunset, some live acoustic music, all while sampling a selection of wines and local cheese to match.
After a welcome glass of sparkling wine, you will be invited to try;
– White wine (light and aromatic) – English Bacchus – Paired with goats cheese
– Orange wine / natural biodynamic – Spanish – Paired with chilli cheese
– Rose wine – French – Paired with nettle cheese
– light bodied red – Patagonian Pinot Noir – Paired with smoked cheese
– rich intense red – Italian Appassimento – Paired with extra mature aged cheese
Each wine sample is approximately a 60-70ml pouring.
Each cheese is provided by the Northumberland Cheese Co. and is served with crackers, grapes and apricots
North East Tasting Club will be situated on Battery terrace, you are free to enjoy your drink around the castle grounds and when you are ready for the next wine and matching cheese you simply take your glass back to Battery terrace and get it topped up! Our castle Horsebox Bar will also be open, for those that would prefer an alternative to wine.

Due to the consumption of alcohol, this event is for over 18’s only. Bamburgh Castle operates a Challenge 25 policy and may ask for proof of ID on entry.
With monthly club events locally (currently in Tynemouth) as well as local partnership tastings with fantastic businesses such as Ernest at Ouseburn, Northumberland cheese co, and Hiddle Hut. North East Tasting Club is a new venture and business ran by Andrea Hill. Andrea offers private tasting events bespoke for groups of 6 or more. North East Tasting Club is passionate about creating unique culinary experiences across the North East.
Live music will be provided by Andy Craig – a local singer/songwriter and guitarist whose homespun tales of life on the coast are reflected in beautiful songs and evocative instrumentals.
